Our Story

Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Diphu was established in 1969 at Rongkhelan, Diphu, Karbi Anglong Autonomous District, Assam, under the initiative of Rev. Fr. John Mariae, a missionary educator dedicated to serving the educational needs of the region.

From its humble beginnings, the institution was established with the vision of providing accessible and quality education to the children and young people of Karbi Anglong. Over the decades, the school has grown alongside the community, becoming an important centre of learning in Diphu.

The school began with a modest infrastructure and a small number of students. Through the dedication of its educators, staff, students, parents, and the wider community, it gradually expanded both academically and institutionally.

A significant milestone in its history came in 2004, when the institution was upgraded to a Higher Secondary School. This marked an important step in expanding educational opportunities for students and allowing them to continue their studies at the higher secondary level within the institution.

More than five decades after its establishment, the school continues to serve students from diverse communities and backgrounds. Its journey from a modest educational initiative in 1969 to a Higher Secondary institution reflects the commitment of generations of educators and the trust placed in the school by the people of Karbi Anglong. Today, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Diphu continues to look toward the future while valuing its rich history.
